We’ve been making fire cider for our family before the Farm on Central was even a idea. Our story began with a simple gallon jar, the crisp air of fall, and Savannah’s steadfast belief in an old-world tonic that she lovingly prepared and spoon-fed to us at the slightest hint of a sniffle—our now celebrated Fire Cider.
Truth be told, we did not always embrace this fiery concoction with open arms. The intense flavor was something we accepted with chagrin, knowing that it was Savannah’s way of keeping us healthy. Yet, year after year, as the leaves turned and the cold winds began to whisper, that gallon jar would reappear, and so would our health, fortified through the winter months.
We don’t have to to tell you how important it is to feed your family only the best ingredients. And that’s where our farm comes in. We sat down and asked ourselves, what can we grow? And as it turns out, almost all of what’s in the bottle now comes from our small Family farm, The Farm on Central. Its a little bit of a seasonal dance, as different crops are harvested at different times of the year, resulting in storing some crops and drying others at the peak of freshness in order to capture as much goodness as possible.
What started as a family remedy soon rippled into a local sensation, as organic as the ingredients we use. A single bottle, crafted for a friend in need, sparked an unforeseen journey. Word of mouth created a surge of interest, selling out that gallon jar in less than a day, and our once quiet kitchen transformed into a thriving hub of Fire Cider production.
